Expert Designer Tips: Beyond Wall Art
ElephantStock's interior design expert Elimar Lobo Sáenz shares her tips on creating a boho-inspired interior:
“Natural fibers are trending inside and out. They add a refreshing touch to your environment, and add a nostalgic aroma reminiscent of summertime. Rattan, cane, wicker, and other wood can bring elegance while still maintaining that airy, spacious feel that is characteristic of boho décor. Maintain minimal furniture, and incorporate natural textiles in accessories like rugs, lamps, or wall décor. Boho style is freeing and flexible, so embrace adventure with this trend. Plants can also add freshness and vitality to our indoor spaces. Instantly enrich your interior with live plants. Greenery is a huge part of boho décor, which is associated with all things earthy. Incorporating plants and succulents into your decor can be life-changing. We recommend going for the real thing, unless your home isn’t conducive to live plants, in which case, faux plants might be better suited to your lifestyle.”

Boho-Chic Wall Décor: Size Guide
Boho décor is all about balance. That means you also need to consider the proportions of your décor, in addition to the aesthetics. When you’re selecting a piece of boho wall art to tie your space together, take these technical considerations into account:
“If you’re selecting artwork for a large, empty wall, your canvas or print should take up about 60% to 75% of the overall empty wall space. The empty space refers to the portion not covered by moldings or furniture. First, measure the height and width of your wall. Next, multiply your measurements both by 0.6 and 0.75. This will give you the best range of canvas print sizes to suit your space.
If you need an example to help you out, imagine your blank wall is 9 feet wall by 5 feet wide. Multiply 9 by .6 to get the low end of the ideal height range. Next, do the same for your wall’s 5-foot width. This will give you an ideal height range of 5.4 - 6.75, with an ideal width of 3 feet - 3.75 feet.”

Boho Style Wall Décor: Shapes & Layouts
Just like sizing, layouts are just as important when creating a laid-back, airy space. Choose a piece of boho wall décor that will look effortless in your interior:
Balanced and bold: The Triptych Tri-Panel Canvas or the Symmetrical Five-Panel Canvas
Totally trendy: The Split Two-Piece Canvas or the Four-Panel “Wave” Canvas
Fun and Funky: The 7-Piece Hexagonal Canvas Set
If you decide on a modern, multi-panel print, you need these tips from our guide on hanging wall art like a pro:
* Height: The height of your panels depends on the layout you selected. Some layouts are symmetrical, and some layouts resemble a wave and feature different heights. In general, the tule is to be consistent! For example, if you hang the left panel 3" lower than the middle panel, be sure to hang the right panel using the same measurements. Don’t eyeball it; always use your ruler and pencil to measure the right height!
* Width: No matter which layout you choose, we recommend leaving 1" space between each panel when hung, for the best breathable but cohesive look! If the gap is too big or too small, you will lose the illusion of the multi-panel canvas.

Boho Bathroom Wall Décor & More
While your bathroom might not be the first space you envision as a bohemian haven, it’s the perfect area to play with this tranquil trend. Hang a mandala or spiritual-inspired artwork to create the feeling of peace and positivity in your most sacred space. Accessorize with elements like crystals, incense, and other self-care staples.

Bohemian Wall Décor: Color Schemes
While bohemian color schemes typically start natural and neutral, you don’t have to stray away from color all together. There are tons of earthy tones that pack a punch. For instance, consider rust red and emerald green as accent colors. Teal can even lean boho with the right surroundings. As long as you choose your accent colors carefully and don’t overwhelm your space with saturation, feel free to experiment with unexpected hues.
Grey Wall Décor
While warm neutrals are boho staples, you can introduce grey as a modern alternative. If you really want to add a contemporary touch, consider taupe grey which has a subtle touch of warmth.
